Kay Elizabeth LiCausi– President & CEO
Kay Elizabeth LiCausi is an influential consultant with almost twenty years of experience in government relations and politics at the local, state and federal levels. Known for her results-oriented approach and tireless work ethic, she is a highly successful advocate for her clients.
Kay formed her first firm, KL Strategies in 2002 and now is the President of Hoboken Strategy Group. Kay was recently appointed to the Regional Plan Association's New Jersey Committee, America's oldest and most distinguished independent urban research and advocacy group.
Kay served as the Vice-Chair of the Hudson County Democratic Organization from 2002-2005. Kay worked for then-Congressman Robert Menendez from 1998 to 2002 and when she left to form her firm, she was the New Jersey Chief of Staff. Kay was the campaign manager for Tom DeGise for Hudson County Executive in 2002. She started her career in Washington, DC working for the National Women's Political Caucus.
PolitickerNJ.com has listed Kay among its "Power List" and "Top Ten Hired Guns" and in 2007, she appeared on NJ Biz's "Forty Under 40" which highlights the state's forty most dynamic leaders under 40 years old. In 2010, Latinas United for Political Empowerment honored Kay with the "Amiga Award."
Kay is a tireless advocate for women. She serves on the Executive Board of PAM's List, a New Jersey fundraising network for women legislators; WAGG, Women Advocating for Good Government; and the LUPE PAC. In 2009, Kay successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for a children's cancer center in Tanzania, Africa.
Kay earned her bachelor of arts in Political Science and American Studies from Rutgers University in 1993.
Kay resides in Hoboken with her daughter, Lily Susan.
Michael J. Comba– Vice President
Michael J. Comba serves as Vice President of Hoboken Strategy Group. Clients have come to rely on Michael for his expertise and extensive knowledge of governmental relations and policy issues that consistently produces results. A highly effective consultant, he has more than a decade of experience in the public and private sector, serving at two leading New Jersey-based government relations and business development firms and a key staff member for legislators at the state and federal level.
Michael serves on the Executive Board of Democrats 2000, a statewide organization dedicated to electing Democrats under the age of 40. He is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Carey Council #1280 and Father Carey Assembly #0677 in Carteret and serves in leadership positions in both sections. An avid runner, Michael recently completed the Long Branch Half Marathon.
Michael is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where he earned a bachelor of arts in Politics and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University where he earned his masters degree in Public Affairs and Politics.
A resident of Edison, Michael and his wife, Maria, have a son, Nicholas Joseph.
